Qualify For A Grant Article

Free List of Government Grants

There is a considerable amount of financial aid and assistance that both people and businesses can apply for, it can be confusing to find out if you can apply for packages such as these, and if so, where you can apply. To help with this, a lot of federal and state organizations have made up a free list of government grants. This demonstrates which states and agencies can apply for financial help.

One of these publications is the Catalog for Federal Domestic Assistance, or CFDA. It shows the total list of the government grants that Congress has approved. By looking at which agencies have won financial packages, the list can be a useful tool for people looking to benefit from such grants. However, it can be quite puzzling to read for those with no knowledge in this field, it's wise to try and familiarize yourself with how the information is read.

The CFDA list is available to any organization, business or sole individual who may think they have qualified for a possible grant on display. However, seeing as the list only advises which agencies will benefit, there is no sure way of knowing that you will be able to apply for the grant you require. Therefore, it is important that you know what information to look for, such as the standards for admission and successful grants.

The CFDA isn't the only place where you can find the information you need to see how the grants have been awarded. Many government agencies also have access to the free list of government grants, and any person with access to a computer may access them without hindrance. The information is found on the web sites of the following agencies:

* Department of Education Grants and Contracts Information

* Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

* Department of Transportation (DOT)

* National Institutes of Health (NHI)

* Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

* Department of Justice (DOJ)

* Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

* Stopping Violence Against Women and Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS)

On the aforementioned sites, you can find information on over 300 different grants and programs that will get government help. Agencies on the list include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, which helps with humanitarian aid for people who have fallen victim to natural disasters. This agency was involved with clearing up during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. If you are earning an extremely low income, you may also find useful information of the Food and Nutrition Services, which can help to advise and administer food coupons.

If you're a student who does not own a home or is a tenant, you may benefit from the information that is to be found on a free list of government grants. By looking at the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, web site, you can be advised on how to apply for any financial aid you might be able to apply for to aid with your studies. For a complete list of these benefits and more, you should look at the Government Benefits web site at http://www.govebenefits.gov/.
